Are bicycle helmets necessary?

Safety Helmets are not a legal requirement but Argyll Bike Hire recommends most strongly that they are worn at all times especially if you are heading “up the hills” as there is always a tendency to come back down “at speed”

Do I need to reserve bikes in advance?

Equipment may be hired on an “ad hoc” basis at the leisure reception of Drimsynie House Hotel 9:00 and 5:00p.m. Subject to availability at point of hire.

During high season booking in advance is strongly recommended to ensure that the necessary equipment can be prepared.

Tag-along Bikes Kiddy Seats and Tandem Bikes are subject to High utilisation and can only be booked in advance if you require these items

Where can I ride?

As the area is within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Cycling in the area ia well established with over 90kM of forest track in the immediate area, where vehicular traffic is restricted.

There are many waymarked routes including the Ardgarten circular Route, Drimsynie Circular, Glen Bann, Donich Glen Circular, to name but a few

There are information points throughout the local area where routes are explained in detail and further information can be sought from the Forestry Commission Website or Visitor Information Centres

Extra care should be exercised when riding on single track public roads

What do I need to bring with me?

Only adults with suitable photographic identification (driving licence passport etc) can rent equipment

Equipment can be hired for the use of others (i.e.children) but the rider should be present so that the cycle can be adjusted to fit the user.

Suitable clothing and the safety helmet supplied with the cycle should always be worn

What if I get a puncture ?

We can supply an inner tube and pump with every bike so that the rider can quickly repair the tyre and continue the run

Should you prefer the bike can be returned to the hire centre where staff will effect the repairs

This is however subject to availability on the proposed postponement date.

Bookings cancelled on the day of collection will incur a charge equivilent to 20% of the rental charges on the hire,

Remember we do supply rain covers at only £1:00

What’s your return policy?
